Every Saturday  1-3pm

What do we get up to?

Storytime is a friendly and relaxed session where children can choose which activities they want to take part in. There are stories, puppets, games and arts and crafts. We will often use props and characters the children make in the stories we tell. We have a different theme each week and lots of picture and board books. Please bring a story of your own to share if you like.

Time:

1-3pm every Saturday except during school summer holidays when we have abreak. To keep up to date with our activities please request to join the Storytime mailing list.

Do you need to book?

Saturday sessions are drop-in and you do not need to book though you may need to book for our special events during school holidays. If you do want to book ahead, however, you can do so on Eventbrite here. Storytime is mainly listed on Eventbrite so that people can find out about it!

Ages:

The sessions are suitable for children aged 3yrs and up. Smaller children and babies are welcome but must be closely supervised.

Access:

The pub has step free access from the street. The sunken area of the garden is wheelchair accessible via a ramp at the side of the building. From street level, toilets are down two short flights of stairs. There are no disabled toilets currently but a pre-visit is recommended to check access.

Where is it?

The Oval pub is 131 Oval Road, East Croydon, CR0 6BR. Very close to East Croydon station and bus links plus lots of on street bay parking.

Fee:

There is no fee but donations are welcome. Fees sometimes apply for our special events.

Who runs it?

Storytime is run by Jenny Lockyer, an experienced  playworker and freelance arts facilitator.

You can find out more about Jenny here.
